Someday

Someday

(Morgan-Wall)

Mid-90's, we start to tackle relationship songs. I remember this as being a group step forward from the punk/heavy metal grunch that we were spewing heretofore. Not entirely successful, but it had some nice bits. We draft in Steve on bass and, in addition to writing the night before the session, actually rehearse it once or twice. Shocking!

Al: Vox, keys, drums
John: Guitar
Steve: Bass
Dave: Guitar

Nostalgia is always in...in fact, I'm getting nostalgic for the first wave of nostalgia I felt years ago. good times!

I don't know if I've ever even heard this one before at all.

If I did, sorry, it didn't stick with me. But I do like it, it has sort of a Ray Davies meets New Vaudeville Band quality. From most people, that wouldn't be a compliment, but I think you know that coming from me, that is a ringing endorsement. Too bad you didn't throw in a tap dancing solo tho...

Did I say New Vaudeville Band? I meant Bonzo Dog Band.

No, wait, I didn't.

I think this one kind of came and went at the time, but looking back on it it has some charm. You know, at the time it's all "Jeez, the vocals are off" or "the damn drum machine sounds too much like a drum machine" but with the misty glow of nostalgia (that word again!) it's now "gee, that's kinda cute". The fact that it falls into a New Bonzo Doogie Howser Hot Licks Band kinda vibe is a bonus.
