Demolution

Demolution

(Morgan)

Obsessed as we have been at times with the gooniest musical ideas of the 60's, Sook and I thought it might be a good idea to write an honest-to-goodness rock opera under the guise of one of our many alter-egos The Electric Lime-Peel Expansion Module (or ELPEM for short).
Stay with me here. The work in question would star a groovy fun-loving hippie named Slipperhead, who would be shot into space by a group of Mafioso and encounter the Groovy Goddess, the Creatures Who Smell With Their Feet, and a myriad of other oddities.
So here's a Slipperhead piece. As all that exists at this point is an old treatment and some fragmentary demos (though there is a full several hundred page ELPEM book in existance. Really.), it's hard to say where (if it all) this piece would fit in the canonical work. But get stoned and dig it anyway.

Figured this one would probably be outside of your frame of reference (maybe "Lollipop Tuesday" can cover it. Hey, that's a callback!) I figure if you're gonna be rushed, might as well make the product interesting instead of just sloppy. More "real" songs to come, I promise. About 250 of them, to be exact.

I've been threatening myself to actually finish that ELPEM book. Who knows how many times I've added to it...I usually pull it out like every two years or so and go over it again, adding a few sentences or paragraphs here and there...it just grows and grows like mold.

The main thing preventing me from actually finishing it was that I wanted a soundtrack CD to go along with it...

If I decide to actually complete it, it would be a heck of a chore since it also need fake photographs...heck the "discography" section alone is over 30 pages...it's floating around somewhere....

Wait a minute...I don't think I've ever heard this before.

You've definitely succeeding in combining "Defecting Grey" with "Glimpses" here. Twink would dig it! And Mikey likes it too.

Oh, yeah, I guess I forgot to mention this one is new...to hit the deadline, I pulled Slipperhead out of hibernation for this "short story set to music". It uses one of the oldest literary feints in the book, but that's why we love him: nostagia.
