The Simple Life

The Simple Life

The anti-John Denver song. The lyrics get a bit...rude, so not for the easily offended.

Since I can only post and not actually listen to your song while here at work, is this the same song as that one on your old cassette? I think it was called "The Simple Things" and you go over how all the simple things in life are free...

No, a different song, though come to think of it it does perform the same function of using a musical format to subvert expectations. And stuff.

Ha ha ha! I laugh, but then again I'm a cynical bastard.

This reminds me of Tom Lehrer, actually. Also puts me in the mind of that wimpy version of "Boys in the Hood" that was on KROQ a few years ago. What was the name of that group again?

Dude, you should put some of these out a podcast.

The name of that group was/is "Dynamite Hack"...I love that cover! The whole "words don't fit with the tone of the music" idea is classic, and I'm happy to exploit it whenever I can.

A podcst is a good idea, but I'm trying hard just to keep up with making/posting the songs themselves and have fallen behind on the companion maybe after the semester ends.
